The purpose of this website is to introduce Aphane Consulting by highlighting our background and long standing track record in the engineering industry. Aphane Consulting cc is a member of the South African Black Technical & Allied Careers Organisation (SABTACO). We are also hundred percent owned and managed by Historically Disadvantaged Individuals (HDIs).

MR NKGODI STEPHEN APHANE Pr Tech (Eng)An expert in Road Engineering, Municipal Engineering and Project Management
Mr Nkgodi Stephen Aphane is the principal member of Aphane Consulting and is a well renowned Civil Engineering Technologist by profession with over 25 years experience in the engineering field. He graduated with a B. Tech in Civil Engineering in 1997, from the Witwaterand Technikon. Mr Aphane is proudly registered with ECSA as a Pr. Tech (Eng) (9970014). He is a member of the South African Institute of Civil Engineers (MSAICE) and a member of Member of the South African Black Technical & Allied Careers Organization. His key qualifications include: Project Management, Geometric Design, Pavement Design, Stormwater Design and Road , Rehabilitation Design. Detailed tasks assigned: Overall responsibility for the project management, planning, co-ordination, technical review, monitoring, time management, resource allocation, and cost estimates & reports .


DENNIS SINKONDE, Pr Eng MSc (HIGHWAYS & PAVEMENT)An expert in Pavement Design and Rehabilitation Design, Arbitration and Dispute Resolution
Mr Dennis Sinkonde, a civil engineer, walked away with a B.Eng degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Zambia in 1997 as well as an MSc in Highway Engineering from Chang’an University in 2007. With over 12 years of experience in the engineering field to date, he proudly holds memberships in the following: the Engineering Council of South Africa (Pr. Eng) (20090039), the South African Institution of Civil Engineers (MSAICE), the Engineers Registration Board of Zambia (REng) and the Engineering Institution of Zambia (MEIZ).


At Aphane Consulting, he is responsible for day to day project monitoring and management, geometric and pavement design, material analyses, life cycle cost analyses for various pavement configurations, cost estimates, and dispute resolution. He also assists with structural designs in concrete and structural steel. His key qualifications include: Project Management, Geometric Design, Pavement Design, Stormwater Design, Road Rehabilitation Design, Arbitration and Dispute Resolution.


RABSHECK MUKUMBA, MSc (HYDROLOGY & HYDRAULICS)An expert in Hydrology & Hydraulics
Mr Makumba is a civil engineer with over 30 years of experience in the field. He obtained his both his Bachelor of Science in Engineering and his Master of Science in Engineering degrees from University of Auckland in New Zealand. He is a proud member of the Engineering Council of South Africa (Pr. Eng) (20100389) and the Zimbabwe Institute of Engineers. Day to day responsibilities at Aphane Consulting include being responsible for technical designs and reviews, stormwater analysis and designs, reports, stakeholder liaison and the coordination of various technical staff and project information.

EMPLOYMENT EQUITY

All staff members within our company are from the Previously Disadvantaged Communities. We have employed two trainee technicians from previously disadvantaged communities that are currently undergoing extensive training. In the future, Aphane Consulting hopes to promote staff from within the company to become directors.

SERVICE STRATEGY

The objective of the company is to meet the needs of the client by providing proficient and specialised consulting engineering services. Effective communication is of utmost importance and in order to achieve this, a senior member of the company is appointed to head each project. This director is not only involved in the client liaison, supervision and management of the project, but is also an active participant of the design team and preparation of the contract documentation. The procedures adopted are geared to provide quality final product to the client.

Where communities are affected, projects are structured to allow community input and participation in the planning, design and implementation stages. This transparent process of approach allows the community to participate on an equal level with professionals. This ensures transfer of skills and the empowerment of the community takes place. One of the tasks includes the challenges of South Africa in terms of addressing the Reconstruction and Development Programme are met. Job creation and training form part of the overall strategy in the execution of the projects assigned to the company.
